I've sold 4 things on eBay recently. For 2 of them, I got the buyer's payment in my paypal acct almost immediately. For a third, it's an e-check, so I need to wait 2-6 more days from the time I write this. But sandwiched inbetween these smooth transactions, I have an auction that on eBay itself shows an hourglass icon (similar to the pending e-check) and when I hover over the icon, says "payment was initiated 9-17-10 and is being processed through paypal". It's the same message as the e-check. However, I've not gotten any email from Paypal confirming payment. When I click on the link on eBay that says "View Paypal transaction", I'm brought to a link that says I should create a Paypal acct. However, this website has an error message at the top. It's telling me to upgrade to a Personal, Premier, or Business acct, but also has a link for "Already have an acct?" I don't think I'm being scammed, as the buyer has 50 feedbacks, plus how could a scam affect my eBay seller's page, in that ebay has the hourglass icon and the note "payment being processed". I've looked at his feedback, and there were several left as recently as July, and all but 1 item was for low-priced goods. If a scam was going on I'd think it would be for items costing more than $5 and $12... I don't want to upgrade from my Personal acct, as I'm not having trouble getting payment from others. Can anyone offer advice about what is making this one transaction so unique or difficult?
