Hi. I too was a long standing Top-Up Card user, and used the card regularly. I was surprised when it was shut down, and even more surprised to see a new card has replaced it, yet no info has been forthcoming on this. I have just called the new card company who advised that they were given a list of "select" customers who they should send cards to. I am not on it. The lady advised (quite correctly) to contact PayPal, as they are the ones who decided upon the list. So I called PayPal.Their immediate response was to call the card company (!) I explained I had, and they told me to call you. "oh.." was the reply. I then went on to explain that I had PAID for my card (yes, remember we paid them for this - £5 was it?) and they withdrew the service, yet my card was not due to expire unil 09/2012. They now have a new card, and it seems that not everyone who had the old one is getting the new one. "oh..." again. She decided to dodge this bullet and pass me up the chain... Nice chap I spoke to said that the internal communication with their team about this issue has been poor, and I actually eneded up telling him stuff he never knew about it all (wow!). He also said they had already had quite a few calls about this (everyone on here presumably!), so said he would take this up the chain further, as clearly this is not a good service or situation. He may or may not, but it felt good to tell someone within their organisation what was going on, and how badly let down I felt as a long standing customer. I agree that "cards for all" may not be a good idea - I am sure some people ordered one on day one, used is a few times, then never bothered anymore. But for regular users like me, it seems a bit of a nonsense not to offer me a service which I was clearly using. If they do offer me the new card, it had better be free - i'm not paying again for another card that may well get withdrawn in another 2 years... Hopefully you lucky few will get them soon, and I will just have to join you afterwards 😞
