Hello, Everybody! After a couple of times-longtime ago-of making the mistake of not checking for hidden charges, recurring payments, or any other kind of dishonest “trick”, before filling online orders, now I ALWAYS make sure not to be fooled by online vendors, specially about recurrent surprise-payments. Even so, I found the other day that Avangate took $70USD from my credit card, via Paypal, for the renewal of my BitDefender Internet Security, that I didn’t authorized either when I purchased that software or by the means of a new order. I made a second check of the BitDefender’s and Avangate’s purchasing documentation and-indeed-it doesn’t say anything about automatic renewal anywhere, but somehow they, anyway, managed to schedule a renewal payment in my PayPal “Preapproved Payments”. BitDefender didn’t work in any of my four completely different computers at home (all of them used to freeze over and over) therefore, I didn’t really used it (wasted money) and I couldn’t even claim for the renewal charge, because I didn’t realized that it was scheduled in my own PayPal Account! I strongly recommend every PayPal user to check their “My preapproved payments” in their PayPal account, after each purchasing with PayPal, to see if an unauthorized recurrent payment has been scheduled, and if so, just cancel it: in My Account, hover the cursor over the word Profile (next to Resolution Center)>in the menu, click on My Money>in My preapproved payments, click on the blue Update link. If there is a recurrent payment that you didn’t authorize (Active), click on the respective merchant name, and you will see the Payment details. Click on the blue word “cancel” above the words Payment details, and that scheduled payment will be cancelled. ...And (of course) be careful in business with Avangate. I hope this helps some fellow members. DWG
