I am so upset with paypal, it is a form of payment i have used and was always happy with until a recent problem has caused me to question whether or not to cancel the entire account. I tried to make a purchase online and of course thought that the paypal method would afford me the most safety. But instead it has caused a nightmare. there was an internet glitch and the seller has no record whatsoever of the purchase, but paypal refuses to remove the charge from the pending status. as a result, i may not be able to have a christmas for my child. i can't afford to pay twice and i can't afford to wait until after christmas to make the purchase. why does paypal go so far out of their way to protect the seller instead of the buyer? paypal is a internet based financial institution that should be completely aware that internet orders are subject to computer glitches. there is no reason at all why paypal should not be able to immediately void or cancel a transaction that did not go through, due to a computer error. if the seller web site says sorry your paypal authorization did not go through, then why does paypal refuse to cancel or void the pending transaction? even at the most tight retailers who try their best not to give a refund you can still easily get a same day void or cancellation. the bottom line is that paypal does not protect the consumer and they are therefore operating under false pretenses.
