I had the exact situation, a notification of paypal of a charge from booking.com of more than 1000€ and I seenothing on my booking.com account. Impossible to talk with booking.com as I do not have any booking number or anything else and Pypal closed my case within less than an hour of me creating it.... This do really look like a serial SCAM
