3 weeks later and my account is still limited. The law firm sent them the release two weeks ago and Paypal keeps telling me that it was not received. The law firm received a confirmation email back from Paypal that it was received. They also sent me a copy of the release that was sent. Last Friday I was asked by the Paypal rep to send them a copy of the release. They gave me a link to upload documents and I sent it. Yesterday, I called for the 5th time as the account is still limited and was told that the release had to come from the law firm and not from me. I contacted the law firm again today and they sent it again. They copied me on the notification to Paypal. Every rep that I have spoken to just gives the "I'm sorry that this happened" and "I understand why you are upset" speech. None of them will actually do anything to resolve the problem that they created. The release from the law firm says to call if there are any questions. I asked the reps if they would please call them as this has been going on for weeks. They can't do that. At this point, I only want my account limitation to be removed so I can close my Paypal credit account and then close my Paypal account. I can't do either until the limitation is removed. 24 years of being with Paypal and I am done. This is by far the WORST customer service that I have ever experienced. I asked one of the bozos if they received a restraining order against John [removed], would they limit every John [removed] that has a Paypal account. He actually said "yes". The law firm sent over a restraining order for a name that wasn't even mine. Different middle initial and different spelling of the last name and Paypal limited my account and even though they made the mistake, they are refusing to fix it. I am glad that I didn't have any money tied up in the account that they would have frozen. I understand now why there was a class action suit against Paypal for limiting people's accounts and taking their money without reimbursing it. Paypal may be convenient for you, but you should be prepared to pay a steep price for that convenience.
