Same thing happened to both my and my wife's accounts. Both of us received several emails as described above. All were in regards to old closed bank accounts, some dating back several years. The only thing different was I also got an email from one of the closed account banks : PAYPAL from (my name) tried to either deposit money into or withdraw money from your account. Unfortunately we could not complete this transaction because this account is closed. Please contact them to re-process this transaction with another account. Amount: $0.00 Account:[removed] Submitted on: 05/11/2023 Looks to me like attempts are actually being made to move funds through these closed accounts using Paypal. I do not know what else to make of it. As a precaution I removed all but one bank with a $0 balance and one locked credit card from our PayPals. All CRAs are frozen and I setup 2-step on both Paypal accounts. Dont know what else to do.
