Hi I sold An item on Facebook took plenty of pictures and sent the buyer as well as pictures of the item, which was not fragile, wrapped very quickly and big bubble wrap. Buyer got the item instead it looks like the package was opened in transit and it has a tiny scratch on it that you can hardly see and buyer opened a claim for more than half the price of the item so I am understandably upset about this especially since it did not happen in my possession. I even gave the buyer the info for the post office so they could directly get the money sent to them from insurance and then on top of that they went and made that claim to PayPal for more than half of what it is worth. I am understandably upset because it left my hands in perfect condition and also because I am out of work and unwell and have a lot of medical bills with the money for this item went to. I am not happy that even though they did not make a decision yet, PayPal shows my balance in the minus. If they show in favor of the buyer, do they automatically give this person the money or do I have to add the money in my account for the person to get the refund? I almost feel like if I just ask for the entire item back that I should not have to give them a full refund because this item could have been damaged by them and they are just trying to get money back from me it is sad to say but this has happened before I have heard that people will scam you like this. So I basically just want to know is the person get the money regardless or do you have to actually put the money in your account to reverse the negative balance? thank you I am visibly upset and shaken by this since I am in a bad financial position and this only made it worse so instead of helping me this has totally upset me and I don’t think I will ever sell anything again after this horrible experience
