After having had two horrible experiences with eChecks, I have stopped using eBay and PayPal until their disreputable policies are changed. The implementation of mandatory acceptance of eChecks can actually destroy your business, your reputation and your company's good will in very short order. First, it chokes your cash flown by implementing payment hold for 21 days. Second, it creates stagnant inventory buildup because you can't ship an item until payment clears. Third, you look like you are providing poor service to your customers because of hold on checks. Finally, in many cases, you are being required to do business with customers who may likely have poor credit or no credit at all. Ironically, when someone makes a purchase from you, even by eCheck, PayPal makes the immediate deduction from your account--they do not have to wait four to 21 days to be paid. These policies simply must stop. Sellers should be allowed to set their own terms on how they would like to conduct and operate their business. Imagine walking into a store and ordering something and telling the clerk, hold that for me and I'll pay for it in, oh, three weeks or so, you know, when I have a few extra bucks in the bank account. That store would certainly sell the item on a first come, first served basis--which is what business is all about. So, if you agree with this post, please let's all start raising our voices and let PayPal know we disapprove of pricing impositions that are strangling our business. P.S. Will the Paypal shills (and you're pretty easy to spot) kindly refrain from dragging this post through the mud. Thanks
