Why? Why do you keep doing this? I DON'T WANT AUTO-LOGIN! This is a stupid idea, it is the exact opposite of "Secure". This is horrible customer service, you make changes to my personal account security without my permission and rather than ask me if I want that, you just inform me that you have already taken it upon yourself to do it for me! STOP IT! If I log in to my PayPal account and you ask if I'd like to turn on auto-login and I can answer "No" and check a box that says "Don't ask me again"... I can live with that. Don't make changes without asking me! Also, please don't send me instructions on how to turn it off, I've already done it. The point is that you should not have changed my personal account settings without my permission in the first place. You get a 0 out of 10 for customer service when you do this.   Why does PayPal do something so obviously stupid and anti-secure and then place it under "Security". There are so many posts lamenting this awful customer service and PayPal doesn't seem to listen or care. ... View more

Are you able to share WHY PayPal did this? I know it's not really anyone's business but since you posted about it I think it's a fair question. Perhaps you've actually violated their policy through some fraudulent means in some way, we have no way of knowing unless we get the whole story. Hopefully it's not because they simply disagree with your views on some point. ... View more

@SoCalJody    I'm with you and gave you a Kudo... but... if you view the policy in it's entirety your point I believe is taken somewhat out of context. This part is about fraudulent activity, not misinformation nor would it apply to your posts or political views I believe. If you provide false or misleading information to PayPal regarding your banking information (for example) would you not expect PayPal to take exception to that? I would. You could be defrauded by someone registering with PayPal under false pretenses.  ... View more

@CWC2012    I would agree. And, as another poster mentioned, this policy has always been in effect and I myself agree with it. If people are using PayPal to fund illegal activities like terrorism, etc. let's fine them and kick them. I don't believe this part of the policy is intended to fine people for disagreeing politically with PayPal management or posting something they consider "misinformation".  As I mentioned earlier, I believe PayPal made a monumental mistake, came to their senses and will not be initiating that misinformation policy. I also have observed that PayPal has not (that I have seen) censored or deleted any of my posts or others speaking out against them. Just an observation. ... View more

@kernowlass "Esteemed Advisor"   I disagree wholeheartedly. This is exactly the place everyone should come and announce it. It seems you'd rather just quietly sweep it under the rug. That is exactly what the "Woke" want. Just disappear quietly. For the record, I too am a long time user of PayPal and have always loved my PayPal experience. I do not intend to quit the service at this time. I can't seem to get a straight answer as to whether or not this policy will actually be implemented, even from PayPal staff. I posted a reply from PayPal Support which states that they will not be fining people for misinformation but no mention about November 3rd. Kudos to PayPal if they have changed their mind for real. If the policy ever does take effect I too will be gone and I guarantee you I'll be announcing it here on the PayPal forums. I don't believe the initial announcement was a "mistake" as PayPal has claimed. I believe they actually were planning to move forward with this horrible idea but changed their minds when they realized they might as well shove a knife into the heart of their own business. I won't go on and on about how this woke garbage has to stop but I will quit if the policy goes through. "Get Woke, Go Broke"... the best saying ever. Unfortunately there's no way to "UnKudo" your awful reply to a long time customer. I can only hope your attempts to silence people is unsuccessful. ... View more

Can anyone direct me to where on the PayPal site this policy exists? I clicked on the "Legal" link at the bottom of the PayPal page and searched for this policy. I can't find the word "misinformation" in any of their policies. Please post here if you're aware of an actual policy saying they'll deduct $2,500 for misinformation or any other violation of their policy anywhere? ... View more

The policy changes include a ban on “the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials” that “promote misinformation,” “hate,” or anything else the company deemed “unfit for publication.”   Is this on again. PayPal said the original announcement was just a big mistake. Now they apparently are reinstating this in the policy. If true, I'm gone.   Get Woke - Go Broke   ... View more
