If they both did, then it's probably on your bank's end. Contact them and see if they can discern what's up. ... View more

I agree that's profoundly strange. I hope a rep gets back to you, but sometimes decoding what they're trying to convey without directly saying it is difficult. I've had to call every two days for 6 months on my issue, so I hope yours gets resolved sooner. ... View more

I mean, you got insurance, and that's what it's for. In terms of ebay purchases, if the buyer doesn't receive the goods, they don't have to pay them, and that's kind of a staple of online selling. I buy insurance on all transactions over $100, so make your claim to the post office and retrieve your money that way. Paypal isn't going to double you up and pay you $ on top of the insurance claim. ... View more

Which website did you use to purchase this? In instances like this, you're usually best off speaking to the company directly and asking for a refund. If you used ebay or otherwise, they generally have their own means of conducting returns. ... View more

Is it possible someone who previously lived at your address had a paypal account, and that's the information you're finding? Do you still have access to the email address you used to make your original account? I'd start there and see if you can go through normal recovery procedures because it sounds to me not like they think you're deceased, but instead they're finding a different account with a non-matching name and don't wish to proceed. Are you able to log in to your old account? I didn't catch that from your initial post. ... View more

I'm not sure what your question is, but you shouldn't be sending money fnf to strangers. They shouldn't be able to obtain your password based on the transaction alone, but if your email address is associated with a password leak elsewhere on the internet and you use the same password everywhere, you could be liable to having your account hacked. ... International return locked in customs

Hey all, I sent a package back to china of defective goods I ordered as instructed by paypal. The seller refused the goods (as they said they would, but I sent the package back anyway to fulfill my return obligation, which is just one of many frauds on the seller's end) and now paypal considers the tracking invalid because the package is stuck in chinese customs due to the delivery refusal. This is for $1,100 worth of goods and shipping cost another $500. The case has been reopened, but this is the second time it has been reopened, and the first time it was closed because the tracking was considered invalid--for the reason mentioned previously. Has anyone else had an issue like this, and if so, what did you do about it? I provided messages from the seller and forwarded messages from DHL about the refusal, so in my mind all the evidence should be there. Thanks in advance ... View more
