Following a sale on Le Bon Coin, I received a message from a buyer which turns out to be an attempted fraud ... Here is the whatsapp message I received from <removed> : "Hello still available?" -> yes! "Thank you for your answer, and your good suits me perfectly since I live at <removed>, it was not easy to make an appointment to finalize the sale, The price suits me. I opt for sending via Colissimo with the shipping costs at my charge which amounts to 10 €. I intend to pay you in advance via PayPal, and I suggest that the transfer be made before sending, If you do not do not have a Paypal account, I offer you an additional 8 € for the reservation of the article until you create an account http://www.paypal.fr What do you think ? " So I proceeded to a payment request on my paypal account. I then received an SMS from paypal (but it is obviously not Paypal!) With a link I had to click to receive the money. I had a doubt when I saw that you had to enter your credit card details (which I did not do); I then searched the internet, and I was able to find other people who were scammed by this person! Here is the email the person gave me: <removed> The response of the person having made the request: "Re I just make the PayPal payment please check your phone as it informed me that they will send you SMS notification have you done it ?? You must receive an SMS from PayPal confirming the payment, please follow the instructions to collect the payment check your email to complete the transaction. Keep me posted thank you " And the sms received from <removed>: "Paypal: You have received money. Accept your payment on <removed>Julien sent you 95.00 EUR."
