The problem is with PayPal's relatively new 2-step verification process and updates in Windows 10.  Paypal will use 2 step verification to verify your login one way or another.  If you choose not to set up the 2-step texting verification, where you are sent a code to sign in, you will get an email, which suffices as the second step.  So to turn off the emails, turn on 2-step verification in your account settings.  You have to decide if you always have your phone with you when you access paypal, then I'd say take advantage of the 2-step using the code.  If you're someone who doesn't always have a phone with them, when they need to sign into paypal, then I'd just stick with the email notifications. ... The issue is PayPals 2-Step verification process and updates in Windows.  Paypal has moved to a 2 step account verification process, which was optional up until a few months ago.  With the Windows update, Paypal no longer gives you the choice.  If you choose their "2-step verification" process (in account settings), you will receive a text with a code, you enter the code and sign in, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL VERIFICATION.  However, if you choose not to use this setting, the alternate is to send you an email notifying you of the sign on. ...
