I do not use a mobile phone, and would not use it for two factor authentication (2FA) via text message or otherwise, since I am concerned about "sim swapping". Contacted PayPal (PP) Canada Support who suggested I create a new a/c (which requires a mobile #)... see the loop here? Why can PP not use a callback to a registered landline phone (i.e., analogue, or the POTS system)? My bank does it, so does my brokerage... anyone hear of landline swapping yet? Am researching alternative options to PP... let me know if anyone knows of any?
