When you're unsure if a payment went through or not, the best thing to do, is to check your email inbox as any time you complete a payment with PayPal, an email receipt is issued out. If the website errored out in the middle of the checkout process, it is possible the card may have been authorized, which would place a temporary hold on the card. If you didn't make a purchase using PayPal, but Fitbit says they are returning the funds via PayPal, then that means they would be sending the money to you, likely using an email address or phone number you provided to them. When you receive money via PayPal, a notification gets sent. If the email address or phone number you provided to Fitbit is not linked and confirmed on your PayPal account, then the funds would not show until you have done so. You can link and confirm an email by following the directions found here. Based on what you are all sharing, it sounds like you're receiving invoices for purchases that you have not made, and I understand how confusing that can be. When you receive an invoice, you are not obligated to pay that invoice. If you don't recognize who sent it, or what the invoice is for, you can actually cancel the invoice to remove it from your account.   You can do so by following these steps for a Personal PayPal account.   Log in to your PayPal account. Either find the request or invoice on your Summary page or click Activity. Click Cancel next to it. Click Yes to complete the cancellation. While there can be some limits on payment amounts, those are much larger than € 2000. As for the timeframe, that depends on where the funds are coming from. If the transfer is from the balance from one PayPal account to the balance of another PayPal account, the transfer is usually instantaneous.
