I had the same issue - I saw an interesting item on a social media ad, went to buy one and a week or two later received a cheaper item which only passingly matched the item description but with none of the quality of the advertised item. I was fortunate enough to have sent the payment to an unconfirmed PayPal account, so after a month I got my money back in full. It's not my responsibility that the fraudsters didn't keep their accounts up to date. I'll continue to waste their time over email. So far I have an address for them in China, but it might be totally made up and be the location of a fully legit company, I have no way of knowing.
