Someone decided to use my partners paypal to treat themselves to a nice monthly subscription of €19. When we phoned customer service we were told that people can easily set this up and gain access to a person's paypal just through their email!!! This is really disappointing as I'm setting up a business and wanted to use paypal as a secure way for customers to pay. However I now realise it is not secure for users at all! The money came out of my account as my card was linked on his paypal. As it's a debit card my bank can't do anything. So despite being told by PayPal customer service that it is easy to gain access to accounts via email, the dispute team still denied that it was an unauthorised transaction and has refused to refund my money. Luckily I can block PayPal from taking the money in future months via my bank. However is this now going to mean my partner's paypal with be more and more overdrawn for however long this person's subscription is? And what else can I do to get the money back? ... View more
