I use PayPay to transfer money from my US Bank to my Mexico back without issues. However when I tried to transfer from a Canadian bank (TD) to my Mexico bank (Santander) , the story becomes a nightmare. Paypal says the funds are on the way BUT that is not the case. Instead the recipient (me) gets an email to contact "Intermex" via Whatsaps for additional information??? Calling Paypal and  Xoom was futile other then telling me, the sender, had to approve giving any help to the recipient, me, before they would talk to me (that was not a typo). So here is what I found out.  The PayPal xoom uses an intermediary finical institute called Intermex in Mexico for Canadian funds. I totally understand its function but it should be transparent between my banks. Intermex was holding the funds. After several attempts to provide information to them like name, age, date of birth, copies of my Mexicain permanent residency documents and passport, my patience was gone.  Matter got worst in that (Intermex) communicates only in Spanish. Eventually I requested the transfer cancelled via PayPay (going on two weeks and still no refund).  Had I know up front that I would be required to provide very sensitive personnel information to a Mexican 3rd party, I would have no even attempted the service. The service is just not viable or functionable as advertised. I was able to transfer additional funds directly from the Canadian TD bank to my Mexican bank. It took 48 hours.  ... View more
