Please can someone help me! I was selling my iPhone on eBay when a buyer offered me £490 but he wanted to pay through PayPal and not eBay. He wanted me to create an invoice for him which I did and told me that he had paid me. My PayPal account said that he hadn't paid me but then I received an email from PayPal saying that the payment was on hold until I had emailed PayPal back with the shipping number. I posted the item to get the shipping number and emailed PayPal the number and got a response back from them saying that the money would be in my account within 24hrs. I still haven't received any money and my PayPal account is saying that the buyer hasn't paid me. I can see now that I have obviously been scammed but as a first time seller on PayPal I thought the emails were genuine. I have tried contacting PayPal but all they are telling me to do is to contact the buyer to ask him to pay which I have, but as it's a scam he is obviously not going to pay me! I really don't know what to do I can't even use the PayPal Resolution centre as it's telling me that I can't dispute that particular transaction.
