I have had two separate amounts charged by Shell to my PayPal account and consequently my bank for approx £90 leaving me short of covering my bills without using savings. The two amounts appeared within 20 minutes of each other in areas in London that I haven't been to and for types of fuel that I don't use. The big drama is that the Shell Go+ app is not secure and the issue has been ongoing since 2015, as discussed in this thread: https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Buying-with-PayPal/Shell-petrol-quot-Fill-up-and-Go-quot/td-p/990110/page/4 I spoke to PayPal over the phone and all they could suggest is a charge back due to the GO+ app being setup as an automatic payment???? Yes I am confused too. And Shell are saying that it is PayPal's problem as their security is top notch 👌 LOL! In short I have cancelled the automatic payment mandate through PayPal to prevent further payments. And through a Windows PC, as I couldn't log in to my Go+ account through my phone anymore, I changed the password and logged out all devices on the account. That had the desired effect of letting me back in and thus proving that the Shell app is compromised. Be warned, 5 years of this going on and Shell haven't fixed the issue. Use at your own risk.
