https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2020/10/paypal-to-introduce-p12-yr-fee-for--inactive--accounts---act-now/   This would seem to be the crucial bit:   "From 16 December 2020, if your account has been inactive for over 12 months, you'll be charged a fee which is the lesser of £12 or your entire PayPal balance. If you don't have any money in your PayPal account, or your balance is negative, PayPal says you won't be charged a fee (even if you have a credit or debit card linked to the account)."   So if it's not an account you use and there's nothing in it, they won't charge you. ... I've had this too. Letter dated 23rd November. It refers to an account I'd forgotten I had that I only started to buy something over a decade ago. I don't know the password to it (when I tried to change it I accidentally changed my current account's password) or the email address associated with it.   I've had a response to a message I've sent to the help centre but it really wasn't what I was asking   I can't get to a Chat facility because it says I have to be logged in to do that.  This is intensely frustrating - suspect account will just be closed if I do nothing - but I'm very much not wanting to have money taken off me despite trying to sort this out. ...
