Another update: The seller is still trying to communicate with me through personal emails as well as the outstanding claim, suggesting that I can give this terrible stuff to friends or family as a "gift" and offering me a $5 voucher as "compensation" in case I want to shop with them again (bizarrely they offered me $8 - $12 via Paypal)! As if! I've repeatedly refused and was insisting that they continue to communicate with me via the Paypal claim but they chose to ignore this. I've now escalated my claim to Paypal and written the following:   The seller has clearly lied about the items I was sold and will not confirm a proper return address to send them back. Further, sending the items back under the shipping conditions they have specified will cost almost as much as the items did in the first place - which will leave me with even less money and nothing to show for it.   I discovered a thread on the Paypal community which suggests that this is a well established scam that has been going on for a considerable amount of time: https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Disputes-and-Limitations/Scam-possibility-Shopping-Technology-Co-Limited/td-p/2185456. I am shocked that Shopping Technology Co., Limited has been allowed to continue operating for as long as they have. Given the number of people whose money they have taken and your terms re. providing false or misleading information, they should have their account closed. I believe when viewing the seller description vs. the items received, the evidence shows a clear intent to mislead.   I would be extremely grateful if you could help me resolve this. A partial refund and the ability to keep the items is not a good solution, as I have explained to the seller several times that the items are nothing like what was advertised and they are of such poor quality that they are actually unusable. -----------------------------------   I really hope that this counts for something, surely the fact that the seller hasn't quickly corrected me on what the return address is makes it clear that shenanigans are afoot? A legitimate business would be very eager to clear things up and help you return the offending items, but if you're operating a scam and don't actually want the junk back then it makes perfect sense.    Apparently this should be resolved by the 19th and I really hope it ends well.  ... Time for another update! Shopping Technology Co., Limited has finally responded to my claim with a pitiful offer:   Offer details: $8.00 USD refund and you can keep the item. See below for any other details the seller may have included. Hello ItsClaudes, Hi there, Thanks for your mail. Sorry for the inconvenience again. Since the shipping fee is high and normally should be afforded by customers. And the returning time can be long, we will only refund to you when we receive the returning item. This is a prolonged but not secured procedure. As a compensation, would you please consider our offering of a $12 gift card or $8 to your account? Thanks for your understanding! Best Regards - Shopping Technology Co., Limited, Friday, 28 August 2020 at 04:36:13   I have obviously refused since that's a pretty insulting offer considering how much I've spent:   You've declined the offer from Shopping Technology Co., Limited. Shopping Technology Co., Limited, I will not accept $8 - $12 when you have taken nearly $70 from me for items that you have clearly lied about and which are of such poor quality that they are unusable. That is not appropriate compensation. I cannot even return these items to you currently as you have advertised one returns address on the Clothworthy website and there is a completely different returns address which isn't even in the same country on the parcel.   I am not willing to spend even more of my money to risk returning items to the wrong address, and I have read several accounts of other unfortunate victims who have attempted to return items to your returns address in China only to have the delivery refused and the items shipped back to them. Please engage in honest business practices and refund me properly. - ItsClaudes, Friday, 28 August 2020 at 17:07:46   ----------------------   That's it so far! What's the betting that the "gift card" would have gotten lost in the post? Has anyone ever fallen for that? I dread to think. 😞 ... View more

An update:   I've received the order and as expected, it's poorly made polyester junk manufactured in China:     I won't even bother trying it on as I know from looking that it won't fit and frankly I don't want it, I just want my money refunded. Consistent with other experiences, the return address listed on the shipping label is tiny and is in fact not the place in China that they list on their website(s). Instead, it's:   <removed>   <removed>   It was rather remarkably sent to me with Royal Mail's tracked 48hr delivery in spite of coming all the way from Shenzhen, if the tracking number I was given is to be believed. I'm opening up a claim now but fully prepared to get in touch with my bank's fraud department if needed. ... View more

@sew_and_sow please do! Spread it far and wide, these people are crooks and the more people that are wise to them, the better 🙂 I'll also update here when I've made any noteworthy headway with my case (and hopefully provide some tips for success!). ... View more

Unfortunately I have recently been diddled by them as well 😞 a Facebook friend shared a "sale" they were running and I considered this friend to be fairly reliable and savvy, so went ahead without a second thought. I will be opening a dispute (and probably escalating this to a claim) with Paypal as soon as I am able. I'm waiting to see if I receive the item first so that I can provide photo evidence of the products. Having done some digging, these scammers have operated a number of websites over the years, current live websites include:    Clothworthy - https://www.clothworthy.com/  ClotheSpirit - https://www.clothespirit.com/ Comfyrs - https://www.comfyrs.com/ Onfreestyle - https://www.onfreestyle.com/ Lovcloth - https://www.lovcloth.com/ Weekneww - https://www.weekneww.com/ Stamess - https://www.stammess.com/ DailyOOTD - https://www.dailyootd.com/   This is certainly not an exhaustive list. Lessons learned for me:    Check when the company/ website was launched, if they only popped up a few weeks/ months ago and are already having a sale, walk away. Likewise, if they have a Facebook or other social media page, check the date that the page was created.  Check the returns policy. A reputable company will always have their returns address in plain sight and if they don't offer free returns they will at least generally ask for proof of postage rather than recommending tracked delivery and telling you they can't guarantee receipt of your returned item. Check their feedback. If it's oceans of 5 star reviews in a very short space of time and not a single complaint, chances are it's a scam. Again, also worth checking on their social media page if they have one. If there are 196 comments but you can somehow only see 11 positive ones and all the rest have been hidden, stay far away.  If there is any indication whatsoever that the company is based in China, walk away. Unfortunately scammers like this are rife and they have ruined the reputation of legitimate Chinese businesses but it's very difficult for the average customer to figure out which ones are trustworthy. If you are buying from a seller based in China, only purchase through websites such as eBay, Etsy, AliExpress or any other website which offers a strong customer protection/ dispute system.  I hope Paypal suspends the Shopping Technology Co., Limited account. We're just the tip of the iceberg, who knows how many other people they've scammed?  ... View more
