I was notified on the 24/7 via email that my paypal account had made a substantial payment (to a company in NSW and delivered to an address in NSW, when I live in Tasmanian). I immediately lodged a dispute of this payment through the resolution centre. 24 hours later the dispute is closed citing ‘no unauthorised payment occurred’, which is ridiculous! I am unable to appeal this decision as the appeal button that is meant to be available does not appear, I tried phoning PayPal but an automated message referred me to the website, I tried to sort it out through the contact us messages, but after chatting with a bot, there was a message to say that I would be transferred to a person who could help... after 15 minutes a message popped up to say messages are not available at this time! This is very frustrating, how do I get this sorted when all of PayPal’s contact methods are out of action! Also, I noticed a dodgey direct debit to Kogan’s had been set up in my account.. which I have now deactivated, obviously completed by the same individual that made the unauthorised payment. I’m left feeling Paypal is really not secure!
