I tried to buy a Kitchenaid stand mixer at a too good to be true price from a website that looked professional but that I now am convinced was a scam. I paid through PayPal thinking I had protection. After nothing arrived I contacted the seller ("Juan <removed>" according to Paypal), who agreed to a refund quickly. That refund showed pending for about 10 days and Paypal said the e-check had not cleared the bank. Now the refund shows "canceled." Paypal shows the case closed and it is impossible to talk to a live agent. The messaging system does not seem to help. I think I must now contest this with my credit card where my funds came from. Does anyone have any advice or knowledge of similar situations? In hindsight it was dumb to buy from an unknown vendor but I thought Paypal had "protection." Also the seller did manage to come with a USPS tracking number to my house, but that was for a delivery ten days before this order was even made, and for "shoe repair" and less than one pound. I don't know how the "seller" cane up with that but it shows a fairly sophisticated scam.
