I had a customer who wanted to return an item, after 5 months. Nothing wrong with the item, but the audio shop lied to him, so they can sell him their stuff. Anyways, they changed an option on the tv tuner, which changed the output type (PAL/NTSC). The unit was under warranty. I called PayPal twice, to make sure he cannot start a dispute and PayPal told me both times, they do not get involved with warranty disputes. Before I know it, the customer opens up a dispute, and within a few days, he gets his money back. I called PayPal multiple times, and met with multiple automatons. Eventually I got through to a human, who tried to trick me into making a deal. I told him I will call back. I called back and quoted 2 of their terms and conditions, and I can hear the embarrassment and defeat in his voice. Now, last week, I spent 3 hours on the phone, with multiple automatons, who refused to give back my PayPal fees. Told me it was impossible, and that their system cannot do it. After calling multiple times to get through to a human, she said ‘due to covid, we aren’t stealing the fees, when you refund’. Told this to the previous **bleep**, who refused to listen. This caused me serious anger and shouting, where my wife and kids can hear. Completely unnecessary. They kept quoting the email I would of received with regards to PayPal stealing fees on refunds. How about the staff reading their own emails on how to their jobs. Bloody idiots.
