I used the IRS get my payment tool to add the routing and account number from my Paypal on the 15th to have the stimulus deposited into my account. From the 15th until today the IRS tool said the payment would be DIRECT DEPOSITED into my Paypal account. Today the status on the IRS get my payment tool changed from "direct depositing into my Paypal account" to "they will be mailing me a physical check next week." The IRS FAQ says "It is possible that we do not have the correct bank account information for you, or your financial institution rejected the direct deposit. In either case, your payment will be mailed to the address we have on file for you." I'm positive I double and triple checked both the routing and account number when entering the information into the IRS get my payment tool. I never received any information from Paypal regarding the stimulus but I followed all the instructions on the Paypal help tool and the IRS website suggests the problem lies on Paypals end. Now that it's failed "Get My Payment will not allow you to change your bank information once your payment has been processed. No action is needed to contact the IRS as phone assistors won’t be able to change your bank information either." per the FAQ so I have to wait now.
