grateful for PayPal's offer to help out with Money...

While being grateful 'they' want to help 'us' with money due to the associated challenges the COVID-19 event might and/or could deliver to someone, I think it is however not a good idea to borrow right now, even if this seems to be a nice gesture, the offer, and so on. Well, if it was a loan you don't have to pay back, that would be different. Getting into 'more' debt at times like this, regardless of how nice it is for PayPal to offer, is a BAD IDEA. We are otherwise seriously going from 'bad' to 'really bad', very bad, worse. But what gets me a bit is the offer for anyone, to borrow,... while they are making still money. Of course "you have got to make money", right? But in guise of a Crisis? I think, if a offer was sincere, offer a free loan, interest fee. Fees waived... i don't know what that means. I looked at my PayPal loan offer of $11,500, and the payback sum in 3 to 5 months depending on sales was over $14,000. I 'gratefully' decline such an offer... from bad to worse. I understand, it's a challenge for everyone out there, and PayPal takes a huge risk to lend out unsecured funds at times like this when you really don't know what sales will look like in 3 to 5 months. They are basing their qualification criteria on your past year's sales.... A year ago I was offered over $40K. Sales have not declined since then. So I guess risk assessment has looked at that. I hope PayPal won't lose to much money. I hope, and I wish, that the community is careful with borrowing money. But it looks like I am too late with my suggestion. The loan crash is on it's way. Just wanted to get this off my chest, this late at night. Best Wishes, yours truly, The AlternaTom ... View more
