I got scammed. I found out I was scammed a few weeks after I bought an item through a facebook ad. I used my PayPal account specifically so I could have buyer protection. I ended up finding out that the company scams people by sending them an item they didn't order, then offering a partial refund. I made a claim to facebook, then had to wait several weeks for my item to arrive. Total shipping time was about 2 months. When it got here, no surprise, it was not the item I ordered. I made a claim. They offered a partial refund. I refused, I want all my money. I am told to return the item to China. Which I am willing to do. Except, the company supplied an address that isn't even a correct Chinese address, and if I address the envelope to that address, almost certainly it would be returned to me in a few months. On top of that, shipping to China is outrageiously expensive.
So, at this point, as NUMEROUS other buyers have been scammed by the same company, same exact situation, I want to know why PayPal can't offer me any buyer protection? I spend a lot of money on fees to PayPal, I use Goods and Services often, so there are fees involved. Much more than the money I am asking them to recover from the scammers.
I told them I believed I was being scammed. And when the item arrived I told them I was scammed. Their response has been less than satisfactory.
Please, is there anything I can do?
