Hi startraveler-
PayPal does not allow the same financial information on more than one active account as a protection to its account holders. You have a couple of options here:
1. There are two separate flows for recovering an older account...there are links for both "Forgot Your Email Address" and "Forgot Your Password." If you can answer some information about the info on file with an older account, as it sounds like you might since you're still using the same bank info, go through the Forgot Your Email flow from the PayPal homepage.
2. Use the Contact Us link to reach out to PayPal securely to explain your situation. We have to verify either through submitting encrypted information via email after being logged in or answering questions by phone that we're dealing with the actual account holder on the affected account.
The first option is probably going to be the quickest for you. At the point you're back in the original account, you can either delete the bank from that account, or if your new account doesn't have any financial info, you could close the new one down and continue on with the original account. Whichever is the case, please be aware that if you close an account with a financial instrument still on it, you will not be able to add that financial instrument to another account, so read each screen thoroughly if you close the new or old account down.
Thanks,
Jason
