No Balance Sheet On Paypal?

by teikyo30 Contributor in How to use PayPal (Archive)

On Ebay and just about every other site that you spend and deposit money when you check your account activity it will show your starting balance, and your debits and credits with a balance as you go. Paypal doesn't show a balance in that way and I'm wondering why. I keep having to download the pdf, or csv file and look at it there and it's annoying. Why can't I check through the website?   For example, April 1st, deposit of $20, balance $25. April 2nd, payment for postage $7, balance $18. I need to know the starting and ending balance to know what's what. Like right now my balance is showing as $5.38 and I have no idea why. I see some charges, but I don't see a starting or ending balance. Just debits and credits. So I have no way of knowing if that's the correct amnount unless I keep a paper ledger, or a separate balance sheet from paypal? Why isn't it built in like Ebay? Doesn't Ebay own Paypal? What gives? ... View more

I already contacted both Kingston and Ebay and they both said they aren't getting involved and buyers should use common sense. So obviously it's okay with them if you sell fake merchandise.   I guess that's good, there are a few pet rocks in my back yard I might list eventually. I'll even name them Larry, Curly, and Moe for authenticity 🙂     ... View more

How could pay pal make you pay them for the refund they issued the buyer? That makes no sense. If the buyer was charged $20 and they get a refund, then pay pal turns around and asks for $20 from you after the refunded the original $20 the buyer paid that means they're taking $20 from you.   Buyer has $20, pay pal has $0 Buyer pays $20 to seller Pay pal refunds that $20 from seller to buyer Pay pal then charges seller $20 and keeps it. Buyer now has $20 and the item and pay pal also has $20 seller has $0 and 0 item.   Excuse me? That can't be right.     ... View more

The simple solution still remains to add a pre-paid debit card to your account with like $2 on it and never use it for purchases. ... View more

I say sue. Sue someone. At the very least they will have to pay a lawyer to handle the case and corporate lawyers bill the company liek $600 an hour so even if you lose it's a win. ... View more

So if pay pal and ebay get a listing for an item that retails at $400 and is selling as $28 then they can wash their hands of it because how should they know? Even when the manufaturer states no one is authorized to sell those items at 1400% less than they retail for?   So I can list a 2010 Ford Mustang GT for sale for $1,000 then send the buyer a matchbox replica and there's nothing ebay or pay pal can do about it?   So this is basically the best scam website out there since they protect scammers. Are there any books on which items I can list to scam people out of their hard-earned money better than others? ... View more

You're okay with Pay pal making you wait until you get a positive review before you get paid? Obviously you're not a seller then. From a buyer standpoint it makes a lot of sense. You can get free stuff by just complaining about it, then pay pal will let you keep the merchandise and take the sellers money and either keep it or return it to the buyer. To me that's a scam.   If you are a seller, let me know which items you have for sale so I can try out that process on you. ... View more

Teikyo is not a she, but thanks for playing.   I get my payments in the form of instant payments for items I list on ebay, however, if ebay were to hold the funds, I wouldn't ship anything unless I knew 100% for sure that there was ZERO chance pay play could refuse to pay me at all for the item. I and the other sellers are not in the business of shipping free merchandise and allowing pay pal to donate our money to their coffers. If that's pay pal's policy then **bleep** them. ... View more
