I'd like to know why I pay fees on ebay (for paypal) on the items I sell based on the total, which for some reason includes shipping. I don't like paying a fee on shipping when I'm already paying the shipping cost. Anybody else have thoughts on this? I think it's a rip!!

All payment services charge their fees based on the total amount (item price, shipping, taxes) of the payment received.

Yeah, I guess that makes it right. Ebay requires paypal only, so I'm basicly held hostage to bull**bleep** rules and no matter what is said it's WRONG.

Money received for shipping is not a payment received to me, It is a money directly paid to the shipping company. I'll give an example. If I select the shipping calculator and the amount is $5.00 for shipping and the buyers sends me $5.00 for shipping and Ebay and payPal charge me a fee on the shipping then I did NOT receive the full shipping amount. I have to pay the difference out of my pocket. This is not bad for one sale but multiply this fee by a million transactions. Who is ripping who off?
