HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

  Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds,not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I've had the same experience.  I've been selling and having payments directed to this acct. for years.  I added a new ebay acct. (for my husband's stuff) over a year ago but it pays to the same paypal acct.   I've sold and shipped items on both accts. with a 100% positive feedback rating - always shipped within two days and never had a hold before.  When did this start and why?

WHY WITHHOLD POSTAGE FOR AN ITEM YOU WONT RELEASE UNTIL FEEDBACK LEFT BUT YOU CANT SEND BECAUSE EBAY HAVE THE POSTAGE , WHY CHARGE AND INSIST ON POSTAGE WHEN ITS NOT AVAILABLE TO YOU AT THE TIME YOU POST

I just noticed paypal/eBay putting a hold on my money as well and just like alot of other people I have 100% feedback thAt is positive, I buy&sell and have never had a case opened or anything wrong ever and I have been doing this for over a year. I have not got in touch with paypal yet(I've called but it was to late; I have late hours) but what I wanna know from someone is ARE THEY GOING TO ACTUALLY CHANGED ANYTHING? WILL THEY TAKE MY HOLDS OFF?? ETC. If someone can tell me what to do to help FIGHT PAYPAL/EBAY OR WHAT I SHOULD DO PLEASE RESPOND!!! I don't know what to do this is killing my business I've worked so hard to build : ( has anyone accomplished anything to do with this??? so comon everyone why not take your greivences to paypal live chat as i did , and the person i was talking to and asking if and why payment hold on postage as we need the postage to post the items and they wont release your payment until you have positive feedback for that item and if like me you sell big bulky items like horse saddles the postage is £15 how the **bleep** if yor selling like most of us to make money are you suppost to get the money from ? it is ebay/paypal causing the problems as the longer the money stays with them the more interest you get .

i have 100% feedback with them till they put a hold on my sales WHY? BECAUSE THEY CAN IS THE ANSWER . .

Maybe I'm a knucklehead but I can't find out to get on live chat.  I've looked in the help section and contact us and everything seems to be automated to answer a specific set of questions

dont worry they make it very difficult to get onto live chat but keep asking questions i e you are holding my money and there will be a contact us box on the right hand side there will be a CALL US  box a EMAIL US box and a CHAT WITH US box but you have to ask a question or to to get the chat box to be offered , hope this helps , bev

wake up they are gaining interest on money that we get 21 days late and the postage in in with that , they insist you include postage so items will get posted and then dont let you have the postage to post the item ??????????

if they do this to even as few as 30 ebayers at a time think of the interest

go onto live chat with ebay or ring them if you prefer and ask just one question

IF YOU INSIST WE CHARGE POSTAGE AND THEN WITHOLD THE POSTAGE HOW DO WE SEND THE ITEM ????

i was told i have to sholder the cost ? SO WHY INSIST ON POSTAGE IN THE FIRST PLACE > ANSWER more money to add interest on ebays bank account we are being ripped off people wake up ask the question and then send response if you get on to bbc dominic littlewood

and i plead that you go against your gut feeling and tell people you have sold to that you will post the item when you get the postage that way ebay get it two fold from sellers and buyers and you know they will be swamped and exactly how much do you think the resolution centre staff get paid , when they have millions of sales held until they pay us beet them at there own game , we have no legal obligation to post an item until the postage costs for that item are withheld and it was ebay in the first place that causes the problem

when you add post and packaging to your item something you must do , and the item sells and then ebay/paypal HOLD THE PAYMENTS , how are you then expected to send the item when ebay/paypal have the POSTAGE on hold , therfore the item dosnt get posted and as a knock on affect the buyer gets fed up and goes to resolution centre and open a case (all the while holding the actual money to post the item )what do you do ??????

answer contact paypal and point out there error on mass , i get your centiment ebay/paypal but seriously what are you trying to do.

however as a ebay member with 100% until the hold have given it thought and have reolised if another 300 people are in the same place as me on hold that must be thousands if not millions , think of the interest people , THINK OF THE INTEREST .

ADD TO THAT THE FEES AND LISTING PRICE , WOOO HOO .

i think we have now found the real reason for holding eh ebay

im varified have the me mark have 100% feedback even with my volume of sales then out of the blue came the hold? both paypal and ebay have more details about my finacial situation than the bank that sold me my house, go figure
