Until Asange is actually charged with some kind of financial fraud, PayPal must absolutely reinstated his account.  How would PayPal like it if I told my contractors "I can no longer accpet PayPal payments."

Please reinstate Wikileaks. Paypal is exhibiting the same hypocrisy as Mastercard / Visa and the big banks. Let justice run its proper course. In the meantime, isn't Assange / Wikileaks innocent of... well, don't even know what the charge is at this point. Where would we be without empowered whistleblowers: think Abu Ghraib, Enron, Watergate, etc etc etc.

Pressure from the U.S. govertment and other corps no doubt caused Paypal to join the fold. Once a glorious internet startup, now you are part of the anonymous machine! How ironic and sad. We wouldn't need Wikileaks and such if government wasn't so dishonest and if corps weren't so irresponsible.

Whenever possible I will refrain from using PayPal. It's back to checks and cash for me.

'Whenever possible'?  Sounds to me more like 'whenever convienent'.  PayPal can do whatever they want.

  It actually diminishes my view of ebain as well. Years of glowing feedback means NOTHING to your "pal", nor USPS Customs forms, nor receipts for shipping international,even if using THEIR debit card!

They would have you believe they are not connected enough to check this,believe me, they are. Cons in my book.

My real "pals" don't call me a liar and steal my money.

I though I would post this because it seems like it is something that involves this conversation. It's part of the PayPal User Agreement, you know, that thing that says:

"By clicking the button below, I agree to the PayPal User Agreement and Privacy Policy" 

And WILL NOT allow to open a PayPal Account without clicking the Agree and Create Account Button

10.4 Actions by PayPal. If we have reason to believe that you have engaged in any Restricted Activities, we may take various actions to protect PayPal, eBay, other Users, other third parties, or you from Reversals, Chargebacks, Claims, fees, fines, penalties and any other liability. The actions we may take include but are not limited to the following:

1. We may close, suspend, or limit your access to your Account or the PayPal Services (such as limiting access to any of your Payment Methods, and/or your ability to send money, make withdrawals, or remove financial Information);
2. We may contact Users who have purchased goods or services from you, contact your bank or credit card issuer, and/or warn other Users, law enforcement, or impacted third parties of your actions;
3. We may update inaccurate Information you provided us;
4. We may refuse to provide the PayPal Services to you in the future;
5. We may hold your funds for up to 180 days if reasonably needed to protect against the risk of liability; and
6. We may take legal action against you.

PayPal, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to terminate this Agreement, access to its website, or access to the PayPal Services for any reason and at any time upon notice to you and payment to you of any unrestricted funds held in custody for you.

To quell any further inane talk on whether it is legal or not; there it is... It's all laid out BEFORE signing up for a PayPal Account whether you like it or not, read it or not, this is a something that is binding, and is your own fault if you did not read through it before selecting that button.

And to those who are say they are 'closing your account in protest and boycott,' that is your decision, and I doubt that PayPal will notice the miniscule amount of actual account closures, because it is more than likely offset by the hordes and hordes of individuals who agree with this decision signing up for accounts, or continuing to do business because of this. So if you are choosing to leave over this, goodbye, don't let the door hit you on the way out, and wish you the best in your future endeavors; because to me and my business, PayPal processing MY payments is worth more than some pseudo-company having issues with corporate ethics and a founder being investigated for accusations of rape.

You're wrong!!   When I and many people like myself see someone 's attempt to limit my or someone else's freedom of speech we have a right to protest.  That protest can take any form.  Many people chose to take their money elsewhere.

Get real ...fortunatly nobody takes most of that stuff seriously. I did notice that the agreement did not ask for access to your wife or your firstborn.

I'm not one of those threatening to cancel my Paypay account but I do recognize the slippery slope it is taking us down.

The primary question is what is the level of your trust in our Government and the path it's taking us down. Read about Conplan and Cogs and see if that doesn't light any bulbs in your head.

I join the outrage over Paypal's decision to block donations to wikileaks. I'm expecting a refund from to my paypal account. As soon as that happens I will also close my Paypal and e-bay accounts. This is disgusting.

Paypal's actions are unacceptable and i will also be canceling my account if this continues. I will not use it in the meantime.
