preferred online payment card got messed up after I open the paypal debit card

After adding paypal debit card, in Autopay section it all says:

 

"Online app and in app billing details PayPal Debit Card Preferred

We’ll use your PayPal Debit Card first. Then we will use:

PayPal Mastercard Credit ••••[Removed]".

 

This debit card is only supposed to used for grocery, I've never set this debit card as preferred online payment, never.

But now I have multiple online transactions (home depot and Tello LLC) used this debit card, which I'm sure I selected a credit card when checkout,

it cost me losing the 5% cash back.

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your preferred way to pay and put a dot in one of the options listed.
