Shipping on refunds

Why does the buyer pay for return shipping if the seller sends an incorrect item? This will cost me at least half of what the item cost me and is not my fault.

In the event of a dispute you choose your seller and not Paypal so you need to bear in mind possible return trackable costs before you go ahead and buy from that seller / country.

Paypal state this if you read their buyer protection policy.  >>
IMPORTANT: You may be required to return the item to the seller or other party we specify as part of the settlement of your claim. PayPal Buyer Protection does not entitle you to reimbursement for the return shipping costs that you may incur.

You also have the option to do a chargeback via your card issuer instead of a Paypal dispute if you funded your Paypal payment via a credit card.

I couldn’t care less on the policy. So it just means that a seller has the right, pretty much, to send you the wrong item so you don’t send it back due to the costs involved of doing so over the cost of the item paid for. What a great scam!

Maybe read paypals buyer protection policy first so you can risk assess your purchases.

Make sure you don't buy from these China Social Media sites that nearly always sell tat and the cost to return is normally more than you get back.

I always google companies I don't know first and the reviews make me hit the back button.

I got caught out once about 10 years ago, received tat, chucked it in to the bin, learnt from it and moved on.

Yea, I suppose I’ll have to suck this one up, never had this issue before and PayPal have never asked me to send items back before they refund me so I don’t understand why this one is any different.
