completed status, pending payment

a friend owed me money and he said to request how much he owed me. i did that and we did it 2 separate times bc the payment was fairly large. after the 2nd one he said that paypal will delay both the transactions bc it was too large im guessing and he sent me proof that he sent my money and it still says pending on my side. im wondering how long paypal is going to hold my money

A money request or invoice is asking for a payment for goods / services and so paypal will apply the new seller hold.

Why did you not get your friend to go to send money > friends / family and send it to your paypal email address then it would have been instant.

so it's gonna be 21 days? and trust me, i asked him to do that but he refused for some odd reason. guess he just wanted to make my life harder lol
