Receiving money through paypal

Good day,

With this being my first time applying for a Paypal account and receiving money online I am still very confused. I received a remittance advice on the 9th day of this month detailing that they have sent the payment to my paypal. but to date my paypal remains empty. I've checked  the details and email over and over and found no errors.

How do I know my paypal is able to receive money? I have no way of testing it.

I have no credit/debit cards and bank details connected to my paypal is that the problem?

Thank you for your help!

Well firstly I have to think "is this a scam".

Has someone asked you to open a paypal account just to receive their payment?

Is it an international transaction ie Nigeria.

What type of item are you selling......is it expensive??

Without giving away any info you shouldn't on a public board how does the email address you and are you sure it is not a spoof??

Thank you for your reply.

I'm 100% sure It isn't a scam for the email came from (and is obviously authentic) a website widely used by people around the world ; Redbubble.

In terms of anyone asking me, none, I created the account myself to serve as a place to store my earnings (much as any other Redbubble user does). And as far as i know redbubble operates in the U.S. so yes it is international. Well if you're familiar with Redbubble, I create designs and the website helps me sell it and I receive a margin from the sales.

They address me by my registered username and real name (which I've given to them in the website) I know that the website is not a spoof and is for real. The email who sent me the Remittance Advice is the same email that sends me receipts and notices of sales.

I was just wondering maybe I missed something like do I need to have my account verified? I have no way of knowing If my Paypal account is eligible to receive payments.

OK my next thought is >> is your buyer international??

If they are in the U.S and you are in the U.K then is your paypal account set up to accept dollar payments or has the buyer paid you in sterling.

Sorry don't know anything about redbubble.

The fact you don't have financial info registered to your account should not stop you accepting funds in to your paypal balance as long as your email addy is verified. BUT if you don't have a bank account linked to your paypal account setting up the direct debit mandate then you won't be able to withdraw the funds from your paypal balance.

Having to guess a bit here as you have not supplied a lot of info.

If you want to bypass me and check direct with customer services who can actually view your paypal account you could go to  >>>

Click on the words "Contact us" at the bottom of paypal pages > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent.

OR have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?

It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK and @AskPayPal for Twitter.

The website converts the currency to my specified currency of choice, which in this case is U.S. dollars.

so that means my account is eligible then? That's one the main thoughts I want to be reassured of. You've been of great help one of my problems have been answered now, thanks to you! greatly appreciated. I will contact redbubble to see if the error is from their end or I've managed to input some information wrong.

Thanks so much!
