Negative balance and echeques

Hi I was wondering if anybody could help me, I recently had a negative balance on my PayPal account, I transferred money from my bank to cover it but it took nearly 7 days to clear and now when I try to make any paypal payments I either have to make a direct payment to seller or use an echeque, both options are a bit of a pain especially with Christmas coming and pay day not till next Wednesday. How long will this block last on my account Thanks Paul

When you pay a seller it is never instant > paypal CREDIT the seller and then wait for the funds to clear from your funding souce.

If that source fails then they have to try again and if it again fails they put your account into negative until you pay them off.

But then they may remove your bank account as a funding source OR make you take the wait for the funds to transfer to pay the seller instead of paypal crediting the seller in advance for you.

Sounds as if paypal are no longer prepared to risk their own money to fund your payments in advance so you have to take the wait.

I understand that and it was totally my mistake that caused the negative balance but I was asking how long I would have this kind of block on normal paypal activity for.
