Today, completely out of the blue, I have received a letter from a debt collecting agency on behalf of "Shutl" requesting approximately £20 for outstanding payments which I'm supposed to owe them. I have never been contacted by Shutl before (by e-mail or any other method) so this was an unpleasant surprise, especially as (to my knowledge) I don't owe them any money.
I immediately contacted Shutl via live chat who told me that it relates to several payments for items which I sold last summer on Ebay and paid for the delivery by Shutl. According to them, these payments were not taken from my Paypal account at the time due to insufficient funds being available in my account.
However, I have checked each of these payments (four in total) in my account and under each one it states "Pre-approved payment, [amount] Paid with PayPal balance."
So according to Paypal the money was taken from my Paypal balance at the time of the transaction.
As such, I'd like to ask why have I received this letter requesting money from Shutl and what can I do about it?
Thanks.
