Why did PayPal send me "Security alert We blocked some unusual activity on your card. Please go to the app to see what to do next." when I don't see any charges in PayPal or in my credit account?
The app tells me to replace my card - I don't see how someone could access my card via PayPal, and I don't see any activity in my card account. Going to keep my card as is unless there is more explanation.

Same just happened to me yesterday. Says I need to log into the app to review and see the charges but I cannot get to them. When i log in it just takes me elsewhere saying i need to contact my card company and cancel my card. I do not see anything anywhere... so leaving be for now.

Nov 19, 2024: I just had this same email. And like a dummy, I clicked to install the app on my phone to check it. Everything installed fine and seemed legit. The app showed my correct default email and asked for my password. And like a bigger dummy, I tried giving it and it balked. I tried another, bad again. I left app and went online. Logged in without any problem, realized my security mistake and immediately removed app from my iphone. Also changed my pw on paypal.
What bothers me is what may have been captured before I caught on (still kicking myself for not recognizing this at the start). I see in community forum this has hit others too. Further, many on Reddit have encountered it dating back some time. Further concerning, this email came to me on an email account that is NOT connected to paypal at all.
At present, it appears no harm has been done, but how do I know if info I entered is not being saved to be used later? I would very much like to know from some living entity at Paypal if this issue is known. Has it been researched? Are there any further recommendations as to how bad this may be for me. (Note: I forwarded the actual email to phishing@paypal.com this morning.)
PAYPAL, if you're out there and reading this, I'd really appreciate a call or email with anythign more you know about this specific issue.

I also received this email today. Before clicking on the emailed link, I verified that it was from paypal.com. It connected me to my account online but I am not able to view any information. Tried to "contact us" but it just gives me tech help questions/answers. Would love a "chat" feature on here!

I received an email about blocked charges on my CC. Can't remember if I clicked on the link in the email. I already have the app on my phone and both app and PC tell me about the charges.
Has my account been compromised? I have done one or two transactions since and no issues. I contacted my card company and they said there is no suspicious activity on my card. What to do? What are you seeing about this problem?
