I made a sale in 2020 on Ebay that was paid through Paypal. The case has been decided against me because I was not able to respond because my account has been closed. I have called customer service 6 times and keep being reassured that PayPal will decide on my favor because the sale is so old. I am beyond frustrated and stressed that any sale that I have made in the past 20 years can come back on me because someone lies and claims fraud! Be warned no sale is too old for Paypal to come take your money back. This is theft! How can I send PayPal proof of a Ebay sale on a closed account, to respond to a claim against me?

An unauthorised transaction means that an account holders Paypal account was hacked and used without their consent by your ?buyer.
If Paypal check IP addresses etc and find in favour of the account holder then of course they are reimbursed.
If IP shows they did make the transaction then they may well lose especially considering the time factor, if not then I would appeal.
If you lose then..............
However you would not lose out either as long as you met ALL the requirements of seller protection, so your best bet is to go and read up on it to make sure you were covered.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
