why is my refund on temporary hold?

it has been 7 days between me paying for something on eBay and the seller issuing me a refund, so why when the refund says "completed" have PayPal placed my money on temporary hold??

I am fumming @paypal giving me the runaround over a refund that should have been refunded the same day as ordered and then cancelled with good reason..the seller was very understanding and refunded with no hesitation within in the half hour of ordering...now as the funds were taken straight from my bank by PayPal and after contacting them not once but twice and them blaming everybody and their aunt.. ! for me having to Now wait up to 3 weeks for My Money a and maybe then it won't go to my bank account but PayPal account and I may have to wait a further 2 /3 days depending on the bank ..is it Me here or is someone making mega dollars in interest out of our sterling ...Shame on PayPal !

It's PayPal I had a refund coming from JCP MY FAULT I ordered the wrong size 21 days later the money is back in my account I called Pay Pay three time and was told it was JCP. the back and the government checking if it was drug cartel Then you get the volunteer homers backing Pay Pal coming at you and discounting what you have to say I do not think the volunteer are volunteers I think it's a plant by Pal Pal I also think Pay Pal is using our $$$'s all the time it's held up In the days before fast computer you could have two or three checking accounts A college buddy would move money "the banks" around to keep the him self afloat it worked because it would take three days or more for the $$$'s to move in or out of his checking accounts. It was called KITING. Pay Pal is doing the same thing. I now have my money and have transferred it back to my bank. Thanks

The funds had cleared from my bank long before the hold was put on so I e-mailed a snotty e-mail direct (something about theft and trading standards) and low and behold the funds weren't on hold anymore!  Coincidence?

Don't call all you get is the run around and how sorry they are. I called three times a got the run around each time. Its all about PayPal making money by holding our money I'm out just over $150.00 and the store sent the money back. I have all the paper work in my hand.

if that is the case, than why has the money left my account and i am still waiting for my refund?

It may have left your account but not processed through to paypal yet.

In this digital age it shouldn't cost more than 2-3 days tops to clear between banks for normal customers. Escpecially when I was told by the Paypal helpdesk the merchant who didnt receive my order due to some system error but got my paypal-payment and kindly refunded a few hours after, was a customer at the same bank paypal is connected to, so I was told. Which means a refund-payment doesn't need to be negotiated between different banks, it should be instant. Or take a day or two at most. So Paypal is most likely holding on to funds from customers. To take interest or whatever.

What's this busisness model called the double-triple-quadruple or duodecuple(12 times)-over-your-customer-earning-model?

Paypal is really convenient but please don' t do this to your customers.

PayPal could care less about you or me. I'm out over $150.00 PayPal is making $'s by holding our funds. Nice and PayPay is getting away with it. I can only hope some one drags them in to court. I don't have the funds or I would This is just. WRONG

hi my refund is on hold and i understand why here is the thing that happen 

i sent a 319 payment to impldoll and i had that cash on the primary debit card not the bank account but paypal used my bank account which only had 99 dollars and so i immediatly emailed the impldoll customer service group they refunded the payment and now its on hold my question is 

how will this work if they would take 319 from my bank account and it had 99 that means it will be over drafted but by giving the 319 back that means everything will go back to normal and it will be as if nothing happened am i correct? i mean because i explained to impldoll and thats whythey refunded the money .. meaning that when the review is over i wont be overdrafted right ?
