When you authorise a payment from your bank account and then its cancelled for whatever reason then it can't do a u-turn.
It has to process through to paypal where if it was funded by instant bank transfer it may be credited to your paypal balance for you to click on "withdraw" to send it back to your bank account or it will go back to your bank account.
If it was by debit card then it will automatically go back to the card > bank account.
But all that takes about a week.
