refund not cleared

hi just wanted to ask i bought an item and paid through paypal but then item was not received so had to open a case in resolution centre, refund was initiated and then i received a message saying refund has been sent in my account but then i got another message saying refund not cleared and money's not in my account and to contact buyer myself!!  tried contacting seller but no reply as of yet!! what could i do now to get my money back as the case was closed so can't be reopened again!!

If the seller did not have enough money in his/hers PayPal balance to cover the refund but he/she has a Confirmed bank account connected to his/hers Paypal account. Then Paypal will draw money from that account but the refund will then be in pending status untill the money leaves the sellers bank account and reaches PayPal which can take up to 5 business days.

 

So have you waited 5 buisness days for the money to clear?

When you make a transfer of money from your PayPal balance to your bank account. That transfer will show a completed status in your PayPal account within a day or so after initiating that transfer. But that does not mean the money actually reached your bank account. It could take a day or 2 extra after that before you actually have the money in your bank account.

 

I think this might be the case also when you receive a refund from a seller when the money is taken out of the sellers bank account. The transfer will show completed but the actual money will not become available untill the money clears from the bank and are transfered in your account.

 

Is the money listed as available in your PayPal balance?

Wait up to 5 business days since you received the refund and if the money do not show up either in your PayPal balance or in your bank account (if you originally used bank transfer or credit card/debit card when you payed for the item in question then the refunded money will be returned to those payment sources instead of you PayPal balance). Then contact PayPal again to resort the issue.

thanks thats exactly like my issues at the moment ( i also noticed same seller now has 6 cases against him on ebay totalling nearly 500 quid ) wuldnt surprise me if same person lol
