I made a payment tonight to a company but only when I was redirected back to their home page did i notice something saying that the site had closed no orders would be sent or money refunded, I contacted my bank straight away but the transaction had gone through !! I am now panicking and so worried that i have lost my money - its for over £60, what do I do now

First don't panic you should be fine.
What does it say in your paypal account next to the transaction.
Does it say pending or completed.
Come back and can give you advice based on those options.

If you have funds in your paypal balance (and they have to be cleared funds) then normally paypal will take from there first.
The reason I suspect you have sent an echeque is because maybe you signed up to pay after delivery?? Is that correct.
Other than that the only time an echeque is generated is when you go to pay via your bank account but you don't have a back up card registered on paypal as well or that card has expired and needs up dating.
So that info may help you sort out why it happened.
HOWEVER your seller is the only one that can cancel a pending echeque so tell them to do this.>>>>
FOR THE SELLER.
Go to Account Overview > History > Find the relevant payment > Details > Cancel Payment under ‘Cancel this eCheque payment’ > Review the information and include a message to buyer > Cancel Payment.
