Where is my cancelled money?

I had sent £70 to a friend the other day, I accidently put .co.uk instead of .com on their email. After noticing this I cancelled the transaction a few minutes after as it was unclaimed. The £70 was not put back into my account or my bank instantly. I then proceeded to send another £70 to the correct address this time but the original 70 is in neither my paypal or bank. How long does it take to get the cancelled money?

Gosh you were lucky, if that incorrect email address was ''correct'' to another paypal account you may have lost that money !!!

However as to your cancelled payment >>

When you pay a seller it is never instant > paypal credit the seller for you and then start the process of uploading your funds to paypal from your funding source. This is done so you get your item more quickly.

So when you cancel that payment  those funds can't do a u-turn > they have to process through to paypal who will then either return them to your funding source (if you paid with a debit or credit card), or credit your paypal balance (if it was funded from your balance or instant bank transfer), but that takes a few days and sometimes up to a week.
