I purchased and item from Evergreen Internet Services on 26/12/2010 for £399. I used Paypal to pay for this item. The supplier never delivered the item and it has taken me 6 months of hassling the supplier to get a full refund from. They eventually refunded me the full amount of £399 on 08/07/11. However PayPal have taken £13.77 in fees for this transaction. I understand the standard PayPal fees and why this has happened. However, it seems grossly unfair that PayPal would charge me fees for a refund as a result of another suppliers (and one of their customers) poor customer service. If I am to be charged fees by PayPal whenever a supplier fails to refund me on time then it doesnt encourage me to continue using PayPal for such transactions. Had I used a credit card directly with the supplier then I would have had a full refund and no fees taken.
I am requesting PayPal refund me the full £13.77 in fees so that I am not left out of pocket for making this transaction via PayPal. Up to this point I have been very happy with using PayPal - and this is the first instance I have had to complain.
