I bought a pair of Dr Marten Boots from vendor Light in the box - the picture clearly shows the goods to be Dr Martens with the little tag and the leather 'engraved' showing Dr Martens - The box arrived and it looked genuine enough - as did the paper wrapping - the boots however are clearly an attempt at counterfeiting.
The spelling is wrong on the leather (says SOES instead of SOLES) , the sole shows 'Mr Marions' and the 'rsistance from' is all wrong. - So sold as genuine and clearly fake on arrivel.
Dispute set up immediately and the supplier refuses to refund. Escalation is looked at by Paypal who then tell me to send the goods back at my own expense !!! What, these are counterfeit - I am not going to facilitate illegal operatins by paying to send them back..
Paypal have now refused the refund on the grounds that I didnt want to send the goods back. I have gone to DrM who are looking at the IP implications.
Ive seen loads of examples like this - Do paypal deliberately make it impossible to effect a refund and in doing so facilitate counterfeiting. _ Had I lied (like the supplier) and said the goods hadnt arrived - which in truth they havent (I was expecint genuine DR Marten boots) I would probably have got a full refund - Then when it comes to complaining the website makes it impossible to do so - Disgraceful.
