Yes, you should be able to see the customer details and item details in the payment email notification.
Please make sure your website system is passing the item/order details in the payment API request call to PayPal system.
If your still facing any issues, please create a MTS ticket via - https://www.paypal-support.com/s/?language=en_US with the detail information and error details.
