Transaction Complete but Insufficient Funds

I used a card within my profile that should have been deleted as it is not an active account for me. I submitted a transaction not realizing it was going to withdrawl from this account. I recieved an email that the transaction was declined due to insufficient funds, but that PayPal will try again in 3 business days. This transaction in PayPal says COMPLETE.. and is not allowing me to change the card used, or delete the card used because there is a process on hold with that card. What do I do?

When you pay a seller paypal will CREDIT the seller upfront for you and mark the transaction as complete as they have completed the payment to the seller and then paypal will wait for the funds to transfer from your selected funding source.

You can't change that funding source once the transaction has been completed. If there are no funds in that account then paypal will try a few days later, if that again fails then they may put your paypal account into negative and try a back up funding source. Hopefully that should work BUT if not then you would need to transfer funds to clear your negative balance.
